Ashville, Alabama
City Council meetings are held on the first Monday each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall. For more information contact the City Hall at 205-594-4151 or send a fax to 205- 594-4292. Many of the businesses in Ashville are located around or close to the "Courthouse Square." This includes real estate offices, gift shops, restaurants, drug store and printers along with other establishments. Ashville has excellent recreational and educational facilities for its citizens. An outstanding Sports Complex provides baseball and softball fields for local youth and adult sports leagues. The local schools are among the finest in the county. The library is located in the center of town. The John Looney Pioneer Homestead has been a tourist attraction for years. The town of Ashville is one of two County Seats in St. Clair County and has a population that exceeds 1,700. Located just off of I-59, 40 miles north of Birmingham and 25 miles south of Gadsden, it is a convenient drive into both of these cities. A new courthouse has recently been built and the St. Clair County Board of Education is also located in Ashville.
